Indiana head coach Teri Moren
“Well, I’m really proud of our group. First of all, what a great crowd. I know half of them were from Maine and half were for Mackenzie. It was a great environment for women’s basketball. I was so pleased to see that tonight. A lot of people came out to watch two teams that really battled hard. It’s one of those games, where I said to the team, we had to grind it out. You’re going to have those games. That’s what sport is, especially our sport. We have nights where maybe some of your shots aren’t falling or teams make different runs. I thought we were much better in the second half. The pace of the game was so slow, it felt like a bad game. But then I look at the stat sheet. We had 21 assists to turnovers and win the rebounds by one. It feels like we were so bad, but were we actually that bad? We missed shots and I think we still have ways to go on defense. These guys will tell you that that performance in the first half is not what we are about. We found a way to win. Like I said, sometimes you have to grind it out and give credit to our kids for playing a much better second half.”
