The Boilers have momentum coming into the game, after sweeping Illinois in the latest Big Ten series, while Miami Ohio recently was swept in a MAC series against Ohio.
Purdue’s Julia Gossett was also named the Big Ten Co-Pitcher of the week after her outstanding performance in the series against Illinois, as well as the midweek game against IU Indy where she tossed 14 strikeouts.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Miami Ohio is 26-22 on the season and 15-7 in conference play in the MAC; The RedHawks are fourth in the conference standings. Throughout the preseason, Miami has faced other Big Ten programs in Minnesota, Michigan State, and Maryland, going 1-4 against them overall The RedHawks are led by Shelby Kunkel and Chloe Parks who are batting .379 and .373 respectively.
SERIES HISTORY
Miami Ohio has never beaten the Boilers, but the teams have tied once in their series histories. The last time the teams matched up in the regular season was in 2011, but the teams have played one another during fall ball in years since. The inaugural victory for the Purdue softball team at their home varsity complex was over Miami Ohio back in 1995.
