Henderson Goodfellows is once again seeking donations this holiday season. The goal is to raise $35,000 to help provide toys and clothes to about 600 Henderson children this Christmas. The gifts will be distributed at the annual Goodfellows Christmas party which will be held on Sunday, Dec. 22nd at South Middle School. Doors will open at noon. Goodfellows? donations may be mailed to the Henderson Municipal Building at P.O. Box 716, Henderson, KY 42420. Checks addressed to Henderson Goodfellows may also be dropped off at the Municipal Center during business hours. The Municipal Center is located at 222 First Street in Downtown Henderson. Checks may also be mailed to Goodfellows at P.O. Box 1711, Henderson, KY 42419. The City of Henderson will be tabulating how many donations come in and WSON will read the donations aloud on air and publish that information on WSON's website and social media. Here are the donations as of Thursday, Dec. 12: Anonymous donated $100. John and Carol McDougall donated $300. WSON Henson Media donated $500. Melton Living Trust donated $100 in memory of Blanche Melton. Brenda Legate donated $50 in memory of Clarence and Fannie Conrad. Mike and Carol Richardson donated $100. Vicki and Glenn Winstead donated $100. Today's total: $1,000. Grand total so far: $11,325.
Starting at the beginning of the College Football Season in late August of this year, a new show will begin here on 97.7 WREF called Hammer and Emmett. This show features Cleveland personalities Aaron GoldhammerΒ andΒ Emmett Golden and will be from 9 A.M. to 12 P.M. every Saturday.
